VIDEO CONTENTS:
[0:00] Introduction
[1:03] the finished double stranded yarn cake (200 g total!)
[2:17] mixing the dye Wilton icing colors - 2/3 tsp delphinium blue, 1/4 tsp black, 1/8 tsp brown Mixed into 1/2 cup of water
[3:34] Setting up the dyebath - 12 cups of water, no vinegar. Add the dye and then the dry yarn cake
Add 4 more cups of water
[6:07] Add 1 T white vinegar to the dyebath
[7:30] 10 min later, add 2 T white vinegar
[8:38] After 10 more min, add 3 T white vinegar
[9:59] After 10 more min, add 4 tablesppons of white vinegar
[11:03] After 15 min, add 4 tablespoons (WOWZA) crank up the heat a little bit until we see some simmering, and then turn off the heat completely to let the yarn absorb color as it cools.
[13:13] Cooled off - removing from pot
[13:50] Winding the yarn onto a niddy noddy
[15:38] Yarn unwound on the niddy noddy
[16:30] washing the yarn
[17:46] the finished dry yarn and conclusions.
