Hot Wheels Sizzlers – they were the most exciting Hot Wheels cars ever made! But as collectors they are more of a project to work on than a simple toy to collect. Because of the battery inside eventually leaks acid and ruins the chassis and any chrome. The bodys are always fine after a light cleaning. The chassis parts can be cleaned with the proper chemicals to neutralize the battery acid.
When I collected them in the 90’s some chrome was still good. But there was a guy named Mike Grove who you could send your Sizzler parts to and he would fix them all up including new chrome on those parts. I bought a lot of my cars from him and they are still so beautiful. As far as getting them running well that is another hobby all by itself!
