Some of you may ask the question… Can you build muscle lifting light weights? Stick around and I will show you how to workout with light weights to build muscle.
A lot of you may have had past injuries that have messed up your joints. Well this type of training is perfect for you to build muscle with light weights, without hurting yourself in your workouts.
Building is more about Muscular Tension. This is far more important than how much weight you can lift. My goal is to not only make you look better, but also feel better at the same time. That is why I came up with my method of TriCon Training.
TriCon Training is specific for building muscle and strength, while utilizing less weight. TriCon is triple contraction training, that’s what it stands for. It focuses on the isometric hold during the time under tension. Now I am going to show you some exercises that utilize TriCon Training.
This is a full body workout that is designed to boost your hormones, keep your muscles stimulated, and get a metabolic boost. I like to start with a leg exercise. You can do a goblet squat, but for this exercise we are going to do a Heel-Elevated Front Squat. This is going to put a lot of emphasis on your quads. This is a hip hinge movement, keep your chest up and don’t round your shoulders.
With TriCon Training… The first 3 reps are explosive, followed by 3 isometric holds at the midrange, and 3 super slow reps to finish it off with 9 total reps. We have a lot of other TriCon Training videos that you can check out to see more of the form for other exercises.
The next exercise we are going to do focuses on the chest. The next exercise is the Dumbbell Bench Press. When you are at the isometric hold, really contract your chest muscles. Focus on using your mind muscle connection, and doing TriCon Training is going to help you develop your mind muscle connection.
Now we are going to hit the back. For TriCon Training with your back, I like to use chest supported machines. This exercise is a chest supported Dumbbell Row. When you hold at midrange, really flare your lats out.
Now onto the shoulders… This exercise is going to be a seated Dumbbell Press. For the isometric hold in all of these exercises, you want to hold that position for 10 seconds.
The last exercises are for your favorite part… the arms. We are going to do biceps first with Dumbbell Curls. For form, you want to make sure that your pinkies are higher than your thumbs. The last exercise for the triceps is an Overhead Tricep Extension.
This is a tremendous workout! Utilizing TriCon Training and light weight you can build muscle. Try to do 2-4 sets of these exercises, or even do it circuit style.
