LEAD FEMALE ACTRESS:
Alyce Louis was born in 1925 in Honolulu, Hawaii, with mixed French and Portuguese ancestry. She became a Hawaiian singer and dancer. Alyce Louis performed with the USO during WW2. Following this, she found herself starting in Forbidden Jungle (1950), Harpoon (1948), and Ramar of the Jungle (1952). She died in 1998 in Palm Springs, California.
THE WRITER:
Frances Kavanaugh was born in 1915 in Dallas, Texas. She was known as “The Cowgirl of the Typewriter” because she was a writer for films such as Forbidden Jungle (1950), The Fighting Stallion (1950), and The Daring Caballero (1949). After her marriage to actor and writer Robert L. Hecker in 1951, her short career in Hollywood ended. In the 1970s, she enrolled at Cal State Northridge, earning a bachelor's degree in art and a master's degree in psychology. Francis remained married to Hecker until she died in 2009.
