This video essay about TV show Dexter: Original Sin (2025) is one part review, one part re-write. Finally, they managed to give us a good Dexter season again, after such a long time. That said, I think the show was largely played safe from a story-telling standpoint. I felt the story lacked nuance. It was as uncomplicated as possible, which was probably the best strategy considering the poor reception to the last few Dexter Seasons.
