This is a 3 part tutorial that will show you how to add an animated cannon into your Unreal Engine Project that will fire when the player enters in to a volume. We will use a Timeline node, Interactions, and the Blueprint Functions Library to make the different Blueprints Interact. In this tutorial we will go through adding a Cannon Mesh from Fab to a Blueprint. In the Blueprint we will make the Cannon Barrel move back and forth as it fires using a Timeline Node in Unreal Engine. Below are some links to free assets used in this 3 part tutorial.

This tutorial series is intended for beginner game designers interested in using blueprints in Unreal Engine to make their first, or near first game. Having taught in public schools for over 9 years I have learned that everyone learns differently. I discovered that by talking slowly and clearly, students can follow along better. I will repeat myself sometimes to make sure I was clear on a step. I will go more into depth on many topics so that you understand what and why we did something so you learn the concept and can apply it on your own later. This is not intended to be a follow along and do what I do video series. If something breaks or does not work correctly for me in the tutorial, I will often leave it in if it is a learning moment. If it happens to me, then it might happen to you. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched videos where everything goes right for the demonstrator but does not for me and then I have to figure out why. Often, it is because they skipped a step in their video. This way, I can show you what happened and how to fix it.
