Baby Khichdi Recipe
(Aloo-Gobi-Tamatar-Kaddu-Barbati-Moong Dal-Chawal)
👉 Ingredients:
1 tbsp moong dal (split yellow lentil)
1 tbsp rice (chawal)
1 small potato (aloo) – peeled and chopped
1–2 small cauliflower florets (gobhi)
1 tbsp pumpkin (kaddu) – chopped
2–3 pieces barbati (yardlong beans) chopped finely
1 small tomato (tamatar) – chopped
1 tsp ghee
A pinch of jeera
A pinch of turmeric (haldi)
A pinch of salt after 1 year
Water – about 1½ cups

👩🍳 Method:
1. Wash & soak rice and moong dal together for 15–20 minutes.
2. In a pressure cooker, heat ghee, add all chopped veggies and stir for 1–2 minutes.
3. Add soaked dal and rice, turmeric, salt and water.
4. Mix well and pressure cook for 3–4 whistles (until everything is soft).
5. Once cooled, mash or blend the khichdi to baby’s texture preference.
