This is our first stop on our PNW (Pacific Northwest) trip, follow along as we make our way up to Seattle!
Fly with us in our Piper Arrow III into Palo Alto Airport on Runway 31. This airport has clearly marked transient parking and self-serve fuel. This airport is at sea level with an elevation of 7’ and in true Bay Area fashion asks that you pay for parking via app.
TRANSIENT PARKING
There is plenty of transient parking available at this airport located between taxiways T and U. Look for the parking spots surrounded by the green line and marked as transient parking. There are chain tie-down chains available. The airport requires you to pay for parking via an app. Scan the QR code found on the signs posted near the transient parking area. We paid $5.50 for 0-8 hours of parking but check the app for the latest fees.
FUEL
Self-service fuel is available just west of the airport admin building. Fuel is cheaper here than most SoCal airports. Mind your density altitude! Full-service fuel is available through the FBO.
RESTROOMS
Public restrooms are located inside the airport admin building also known as the terminal.
CREW CAR / CAR RENTAL
There are no crew cars or rental cars available at Palo Alto Airport. However, this is the home of rideshare and you’ll find no shortage of rideshare options here.
FOOD
There isn’t a restaurant on field but you’ll find some highly rated options within a 15 min drive. There is a coffee shop on field, Cloud9 Coffee. If you like coffee stop by for a butterscotch latte.
Palo Alto is home to the prestigious Stanford University, only a short drive from the airport. There are an abundance of parks, walking trails and nature preserves within close proximity to the airport as well. Spend the day or stay for a quick weekend getaway!
Thanks for watching!
See you next week as we continue our PNW trip up the coast!
Until then, Go fly, Go discover!
