In this video, I continue with the theme of making cooking ingredients out of heavy whipping cream -- this time by making my own cultured buttermilk and creme fraiche.
Creme fraiche is a wonderful substitute for sour cream in cooking in both savory and sweet applications. Unlike sour cream, it doesn't break down under heat, making it great for sauces.
Both the cultured buttermilk and the creme fraiche contain just 1g of total carbs per 2 TB serving.
