Today we visited to Dhamma Yazaka Temple in Phwar Saw Village, U Kyi Bwei Water Storage, Sulamani Temple, and Nyaung Lat Phat Natural Lake in Min Nan Thu Village.
Dhamma Yazaka Temple was built by King Narapatisithu in 1196 and cost 44,067 Ks. Some people believe that the temple is guarded by General Dhammapala. During the renovation of the temple in 1997, a staff was possessed by a spirit and said that he was General Dhammapala and he guards the temple. And he asked for a shrine for himself in the precinct of the temple. After the temple was repaired, the staffs cleared the collapsed bricks in the northwest of the temple and found an ancient stone inscription. According to a stone inscription, the General Dhammapala and his wife donated a pavillion here and he was a general who served under King Narapatisithu. Until 1997, no people had heard of General Dhammapala in history.
