🎸"Adafea" 1-6-2026 is an original minor guitar instrumental, and this new take the guitar follows the progression with it's basic theme, the guitar playing is entirely improvised using a variety of techniques including subtle wawa, sustain and delayed resolutions.

🎸"Adafea" is played in Steve Costello's own style. However there are some influences from the styles of Albert King, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

🎸"Adafea" has two main theme riff motives:🎸

1) The starting riff in the Am scale. 🎸 This theme riff occurs at the beginning, and sometimes revisited somewhere else along the song timeline.

2) The main recurring theme riff going up and down the minor scale of the Am chord. 🎸 This theme riff is often revisited and with various variations of the theme riff itself, along with variations of tone and effects.

The starting theme riff at the song start leads into the main recurring theme riff that starts at the 2nd verse.

🎸The Song in the key of Am, and the guitar is tuned to 440hz using the open strings.

🎸It has a BB King and Albert King type of progression, basically it is:

🎸Verse: Am - Dm - Am - F - Em - Am

🎸Steve uses heavy guitar strings, as they resonate well, stay in tune long, and last long. He uses in this take of Adafea: 13, 15, 18, 28, 38, 48. Steve does exercise training that include guitar finger exercises for strength.

Steve Costello and Cosmo Fasciano recorded various styles of original material from many years of recordings (mid 90's until about 2010) from analog 4 track recorders, as I had the pleasure of jamming with and recording many songs with the very talented Cosmo Fasciano. I have many of these recordings, along with my own recordings, and these are the recordings which I am now remastering with Audacity, and putting these songs up on this channel. There are many tapes, and some have been re-mastered, but there are still many more to do. The end result is well worth it, but it takes the stress of dealing with analog issues such as matching various tape speeds and pitch, an occasional tape that gets "eaten " and the hassle of repairing it, and tape deck trim pots oxidizing.
