DAY 5 OF STEROID & ANTI-INFLAMMATORY TAPER - Arachnoiditis & Spinal CSF Leak post IV treatment

Day 5 of my steroid and anti-inflammatory taper post 5 day IV Methylprednisolone treatment for acute adhesive arachnoiditis flare. (10mg prednisolone & 75mg diclofenac. I always also take 20mg Omeprazole to protect my stomach from steroids & anti-inflammatories.). I continue to do very well in my recovery including getting back to my lots of daily walking regime.

In this video I discuss my strange experiences & observations of my probable CSF flow issues 1:54, intracranial pressure (ICP) fluctuations & how walking often helps to stabilise my head & spine pressure 2:30 3:30. After sitting or standing in one position for a while my head gets full of pressure and I get very sleepy, yawn a lot, feel nauseous and struggle to focus - it get's increasingly worse until I walk 3:02. I also discuss my last relapse prior to the one that brought diagnosis which was in April/May 2019 5:15.

Steroid taper: This was planned with my neurologist and he explained that he would generally only recommend daily steroids for 4-5 weeks max. before going down to every other day to protect the adrenal gland. But he said that's mainly an aim and tapering is never an exact science so I can be flexible between those parameters. So as I have been using them daily for just over 2 weeks I have about another 10 days to safely taper.
