When you are on the move and also filming, you need to be able to attach your camera to all kinds of things to get nice wide shots you can use in your videos. You might also want to stabilise your footage for walking shots or when gathering B-Roll.
The problem is, shop brought or DIY / low cost camera stabilisers all take up a lot of room and are not really fun to lug around. Tripods like the Gorilla Pod are popular for attaching to things but in my experience they are time consuming to connect to things and get angled correctly.
The solution I have found is a tiny little SmallRig crab clamp and SmallRig magic arm which fits in my pocket and let's me mount my smartphone or action cam just about anywhere.
For a quick and dirty DIY steady cam, I use this clamp to connect my camera to a stick (ideal when I'm out and about) and this way the heavy part (the stick) can be discarded so it does not slow me down when I am out vlogging on the move.
I won't go anywhere without this rig clipped to my bag or in my pocket now. It's so cheap and awesome. Let me know what you think.
