Two segments and one complete episode that were videotaped during summer reruns in 1980. The sound quality varies, as does the video—some of the clips had flared out badly and were replaced by me. There are two or three blank spots when the tape got temperamental, but they're brief. The other clips range from good to fair, but the VHS tape is now over 40 years old. I'm thrilled that it ran at all, as the Shirley installments are so hard to find today. And, no commercials!

The shows were originally broadcast in 1977-1978 and were important for their time--no one had seen "Little Princess" in color since the 1930s-40s (unless you were lucky enough to own a mid-70s 16mm Thunderbird print of the film), and some of the "Baby Burlesks" were impossible to find on television at all. It wasn't until 1980 that the first three Shirley videotapes were issued by Magnetic Video—"Curly Top", "Heidi" and "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm"—in black and white.

It was also the first time that the "Little Miss Broadway" outtake was shown, along with some rare newsreel clips (Shirley with Eleanor Roosevelt! Shirley in COLOR dedicating a bridge!) Sure, there were a few errors, but they faded away compared to the visual content.

A member of our collectors' community was involved in providing information and items to "The Incredible Shirley", and you can bet we were all glued to the TV to see her name flash by during the end credits. Fun memories. Hope this makes some for you!
