Harris tower, in Harrisburg, Pa., was once one of the busiest towers on the Pennsylvania R.R., controlling train movements on the west end of Pennsy's busy Harrisburg station. Harris was decommissioned in the early 1990's and is now a working museum run by the Harrisburg chapter of the NRHS. Chapter members have created a computer simulator that interfaces with the 1920's era interlocking control plant and model board, and recreates the third trick on October 23, 1943 during the tower's heyday. The tower is open most weekends, May-October, and entry is free, with a donation suggested.
