COVID-19 in Malaysia
Just like any other country in the world, Malaysia is battling the Covid-19 pandemic and from 18th March 2020, we have been in partial lockdown nationwide (using the term, Movement Control Order).
All 'non-essential' businesses will be closed for two weeks while 'essential' businesses are to operate with minimum staff to ensure most people are at home.
Everyone is not allowed to leave home unless there are official matters or out getting food supplies.
Road are mostly deserted with visibly reduced traffic. On Day 5 of the MCO, Armed Forces begin their deployment in assisting the civilian authorities in enforcing the MCO. The Government have also announced that only one person per household are allowed to leave the house to get food supplies.
On Day 5, Malaysia reported its 9th and 10th deaths from the virus. The Ministry of Health is in need of another 500 ventilators and at least 2 million face masks.
