Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A Well Played, but awesome 1967 Guild G-44 NT Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar with the Original Guild Branded Hard Shell Case....
The guitar is all original. It was purchased by a Pro Player from a Vintage Guitar Shop here in Des Moines that is no longer around. All Original but the bridge pins. They were shot. The originals are in the accessory box for the new owner to have. The saddle, pickguard, nut, truss rod cover, and Branded Guild Deluxe Tuners are still with it and are in great shape..
The Bridge had been shaved to help lower the action before we got it. The luthier did a great job. The bridge is still super tight to the body. The guitar plays great but someday it will require a neck reset. Not today in our opinion. It plays great up and down the neck. We had our luthier repair the two top cracks. He glued and cleated them for stability. See pic 5. He also cleated an area in the sound hole that had gotten a little thin thru heavy pick scratching. See pic 3. All are stable now and will not move again in our lifetimes!
The guitar is in really good player shape. Lots of cool finish crazing at the lower bout. The frets are still in great shape and the Ebony fretboard is just beautiful. There is one area on the top that has a spot of orange on it. We have no idea what it is. My luthier and I both tried to remove it and it's not going anywhere without sanding it. Not going to do that. It's not super obvious but part of the character of this cool guitar. See pic 6. The headstock and truss rod cover look like it may have been slightly burned from the 60's Headstock Cigarette holding technique. LOL.. See pic 1
The Jumbo has a Solid Spruce 15 3/4 inch top. It has a 25 1/2 inch scale neck with a 1 11/16 inch nut width. The Guitar weighs only 4 lbs 12 ozs..It has a beautiful Pearwood back and sides. It's not a closet classic. This guitar has definitely been played, a lot, but kept in wonderful playing care
This Guild Dreadnought lives up to its name it sound! It booms yet holds it tone. Not overpowering but will let you turn it loose if desired. The Pearwood back and sides was used as an accelerator to the volume of the guitar to aid in Bluegrass playing. It's pretty loud! Excellent playing action up and down the 20 frets
The Original Hard Shell Caseis in very good shape. All latches, hinges original handle and even the accessory box are present and working as they should. The interior is still in excellent shape. Great original Guild Hard Shell Case that would be impossible to find if it wasn’t with this guitar…Happy we have it!
This Guild G-44 NT is made in Hoboken NJ right here in the USA...If you are buying a Guild, you will be very happy you got this USA Player... An awesome guitar .... Some lucky Guitar Player is going to be very happy when they get this one..
It is sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. Thanks for respecting that.
