This table tennis training video focuses on generating powerful and consistent modern backhand strokes (drive and loop) by utilizing core and leg power over arm-only movement.
The power source must come from the body's inward coiling and outward core thrust, not from intentionally pulling the arm back.
For the backhand, players must settle their weight onto their right leg (for right-handers) and generate power from the inside out.
The power of the body and legs is the most crucial element, acting as the foundation that enables final finger and wrist action.
Active internal wrist rotation should be avoided; the body's coiling action creates the natural, sufficient rotation.
Against heavy underspin, the key to lifting the ball is a strong core thrust forward, which is more effective than a long backswing or focusing solely on friction.
The backswing should be compact (body-driven, not arm-driven) to improve timing and coordination
