Briggs And Stratton Classic 3.5 Full Carb Clean

Hi and welcome to Micks Mowers
In this Video Changing the carburetor gasket on a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 Classic engine is a straightforward task that helps fix air leaks and improve performance
Tools and Materials Needed:
Socket set or screwdriver
New carburetor gasket and diaphragm (specific to your model)
Carb cleaner (optional)
Clean rag

Steps:
Safety First: Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Remove the Air Filter Assembly: Unscrew the air filter cover and remove the air filter and base to access the carburetor.

Detach Carburetor and tank: undo the 3/8 and 1/2" bolts the hold the tank on position Disconnect the throttle linkage from the carb, Carefully pull the carburetor and tank off the engine, noting how the linkages attach.

unscrew the five Philips screws the hold the carb to the tank, Remove Old Gasket set: The gasket sits between the carburetor and tank. Peel it off carefully and clean any residue from both surfaces using carb cleaner or a rag.

Clean the carb with carb cleaner or WD40.. once clean

Install New Gasket set : Align the new gasket correctly with the diaphragm sitting down first and the gasket on top and reinstall the carburetor to the tank with the five screws , now ensuring the linkages are correct fit the tank back onto the engine.

Reassemble and Test: Reattach the air filter and spark plug wire. Start the engine and check for proper operation..
