A burst of trains all passing within 25 minutes feature in this video taken at this fairly busy level crossing in Totton between Southampton and the New Forest, one that has been pretty well-showcased to good quality over the years. The lines are bridged by a narrow, fairly-unstable-feeling footbridge here, which allows pedestrians to skip waiting at the barriers and allowed me to provide some of the better views of trains passing the location. The alarms here are loud, the footways across the level crossing are quite narrow, and the road is fairly busy. All four barrier pedestals and their arms were very new at the time of filming, and it seemed this renewal wasn't too long ago at all as all were manufactured in 2023. They appeared quite shiny, so that's how I could tell they were new before even looking at the first to digits on the barrier plates (usually the year of manufacture). It is believed that crossing operations here are taken care of from Eastleigh, with the level crossing watched through CCTV when it's in operation.

All bar two trains in this video ran non-stop through the station, a twin-platform station only served hourly in the off-peak by local Winchester/Southampton to Bournemouth stoppers. A rather satisfying double-pass features in the third lowering, and two Cross Country 'Voyagers' on the hourly Manchester and Bournemouth runs also feature throughout to add some variety. Enjoy!
