FDC MOURNS EX MP, CHARLES ANGIRO GUTOMOI ABAC ACON, CALLS FOR BETTER ROADS

The Forum for Democratic Change Party is in deep sorrow as they send their heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Charles Angiro Gutumoi, former Member of Parliament for Erute County North.
Gutumoi tragically lost his life in a motor accident along the Karuma-Pakwach road. The FDC party mourns the loss of this towering political figure and recognizes it as a great loss for the party.
According to reports, the accident occurred shortly after Gutumoi addressed his team before heading to a traditional marriage ceremony in Nebbi.
The vehicle they were traveling in, a Toyota Noah, veered off the road and overturned multiple times, resulting in the loss of four lives, including the former legislator.
Following the devastating news, FDC party members, relatives, and friends joined together to accompany Charles Angiro Gutumoi's body back to Lira.
Hundreds of people gathered at the Lira Referral Hospital Mortuary to pay their respects and receive his remains.

FDC Party President, Patrick Amuriat Oboi, expressed his fond memories of Gutumoi and hailed him as a fearless leader who tirelessly served the needs of the common man. Oboi also conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
In the lango community, Gutumoi will always be remembered for his unforgettable 2018 demonstration on power blackout, highlighting his dedication to addressing critical issues affecting the people. His fellow MPs also praised his advocacy for better road infrastructure, emphasizing his commitment to improving public services.
The incident serves as a tragic reminder of the road safety challenges facing the country.
The Annual Crime Report indicates an increase in road accidents, with 20,394 cases reported in 2022 compared to 17,443 the previous year.
Reckless driving contributed to 61% of all accidents, resulting in 22 fatalities out of every 100 crashes, according to the police.
The FDC party and the entire community are left in mourning, reflecting on the immense contributions made by Charles Angiro Gutumoi and the impact he had on the lives of many.
