This unit is almost stock, with the exception of a steel 19T pinion gear and 14 ball bearings. It is by far the most affordable NIB model I've ever aquired from Tamiya. Even compared with my Tamiya Rising Fighter. Taken the price into consideration, I am very impressed with the looks, features and performance of the Neo Fighter Buggy.

The CVA oil filled dampers provide fine damping for the DT-02-double wishbone suspension, the stock spike rear tires provide an acceptable traction in loose gravel and grass (nope, in my personal opinion they are not as bad as many claim them to be) and the torque tuned motor, coupled with a 19T pinion and the DT-02 transmission, provide an acceptable top speed (for my taste). The standard transmission of the DT-02 has, for me, proven bullet proof.

The Neo Fighter Buggy also seems to be fine balanced, though I've not personally experienced any noticable difference between my DT-02 and DT-03. But again, taking the price into account, it is a much cheaper model than the cheapest DT-02, so that is nessecarily not a bad thing. They share pretty much everything other than the actual chassis frame. Theoretically the DT-03 should provide better balance (with the slender monocoque chassis and the central placement of electronics) along with the longer wheel base. Maybe a more experienced driver would notice the difference on a real buggy track with jumps, corners etc. But for some unpretentious and arbitrary running on flat ground like this in the video, I haven't personally noticed any changes in the "fun-factor". The visual difference is huge though.
