APPLIED LINGUISTICS
Applied Linguistics is the practical use of linguistics to solve real life language-related problems. It is about the application of linguistic theories and methods to help solve practical language-related problems in areas such as language education, language acquisition, language assessment, language policy, translations and more.
As language teaching methods evolved, researchers and practitioners recognized the importance of incorporating linguistic theories into language instruction and addressing practical challenges faced by language learners. Another influence came from language planning and policy.
