Longbranch Residence, designed by mwworks, is a remarkable home situated in Key Peninsula, Washington. This residence replaces an aging suburban house on a historically forested site transformed by retaining walls to manage the steep terrain. Inspired by decades of visits to a nearby beach cabin, the new owners envisioned a home that accommodates their family, foster dogs, horses, and guests while seamlessly integrating with the natural landscape. The house features a planted roof that blends with the surrounding meadow, a design that respects the existing forest, and structural elements that harmonize with the environment. With its use of authentic materials and careful attention to detail, Longbranch Residence exemplifies a harmonious connection between architecture and nature, creating a serene and timeless family home.
