Celestial Silence - Silent Calls From the Other Side (album, 2025) [black metal]

Bittersweet atmospheric melodicism, with a similar aggressive melancholia to fellow Ukrainians Colotyphus, with the old dark 90s sounds of Horna and Gehenna; Celestial Silence is a new trinity that combines Klemi of Circle of Ouroborus, Absolute Key, Rotten Moon, with Dødes kor Of Grave Circles and Goatflesh, and Osarseph also of Goatflesh into an compelling entity playing black metal of absorbing existential wayfinding.

Over six tracks, the album sheds layers of raw, hoarse and clean singing – not least, the distinctive spectral rasp that defines Circle of Ouroborus - against dusky sky-scaling muted acoustic passages and expansive starlit backdrops of ever-expanding blackened crescendos; tremolo distortions that reverberate through a series of grand experiences deftly drawn towards earthly reckonings as these six cycles spiral across the half hour run time.
