AVOID THIS EMBARRASSING MISTAKE IN FRENCH - HOW TO SAY INTRODUCE IN FRENCH

Are you learning French and want to sound more natural and avoid awkward mistakes? Then this video is for you! Don't say "introduire" in French when you want to introduce someone. "Introduire" and "to introduce" are pretty similar, and we're tempted to translate "to introduce someone" as "introduire quelqu’un"... It may sound logical, but in French, "introduire" doesn’t mean to introduce a person — and using it in this context can sound really strange or even inappropriate because it means "to insert", to put an object into another one. I guess it's not really what you want to say with "je voudrais introduire ma mère".

In this lesson, I’ll explain the difference between "introduire" and the correct French verb you should use when introducing someone in a conversation. We’ll look at real-life examples so you know exactly what to say and when to say it. I'll also give you some other French verbs and their meanings, as well as some examples.
