There Is a Reality, but No World ‘Out There’ || Rupert Spira

What is reality? Is the world real? And why can’t infinite being experience it? Is it possible that it does, but just in a way that we can’t comprehend?

Rupert says: ‘There is something real about the world, but it’s not what it appears to be. In reality, all there is is infinite, aware being. So, what we are looking at now is infinite being, but the finite mind perceives it in a way that is consistent with its own limitations. So, when we look at it, we see a world, but there’s no world ‘out there’ – at least not as it is normally conceived of by thought.

‘The infinite, by itself, has no objective experience, but it knows the experience of being because aware being is what it is. And this is why the highest teachings say that, for reality, which is all that there truly is, there is no creation, no destruction, no existence and no appearance.

‘If the only experience we had was known through the mind, then we would not be able to know the nature of reality. But there is one experience that we have that is not mediated through the finite mind – the awareness of being. So, our only access to the nature of reality is the experience of the awareness of being.’
