There is an old saying that politics, power and money goes hand in hand. It is no longer a secret that politicians who taste power also accumulate tons of wealth during their days in power.
Politicians of Nagaland are also no exception. Many of the state’s political heavyweights sit on the top of the mountain of wealth. A recent report published by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) proved these as facts on paper.
11 out of the 12 ministers of the present Rio Cabinet are crorepatis. ADR, after analyzing the self-sworn affidavits of all 12 ministers including Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has published the interesting facts. For the first time, a woman has been inducted into the Rio cabinet. Surprisingly NDPP’s Salhoutuonuo Kruse, who has become the first woman minister in state’s history is already a crorepati and sits among the top 3 in the list.
The crorepati ministers of CM Rio’s cabinet are -
Neiphiu Rio - 46 Crores
G. Kaito Aye - 16 Crores
Salhoutuonuo Kruse - 13 Crores
N. Jacob Zhimomi Records - 10 Crores
Temjen Imna Along - 10 Crores
Metsubo Jamir - 8 Crores
Taditui Rangkau Zeliang - 7 Crores
C.L John - 5 Crores
K. G Kenye - 4 Crores
Yanthungo Patton - 2 Crores
P. Bashangmongba Chang - 2 Crores
P. Paiwang Konyak asset is worth 67 Lakhs
