Duddo Tower is only a few miles over the river Tweed and into the English Border Country.
The current tower replaced a medieval tower dating from the 1400s and which King James IV of Scotland raided and destroyed in 1496, believing it to be a formidable tower of strength. Scottish raids into Northumberland also attacked nearby towers of Branxton, Tillmouth, Twizel, and Heaton.
While filming at a location a few miles away the tower caught my attention on the drive home and I asked the farmer if I could investigate and he kindly obliged.
It is wildly overgrown and sits atop some steep crate, and large pigs roam the ground.
