Lesson 557 - English Grammar_How to use ON TIME and IN TIME by Socheat Thin
Hello everyone,
Today’s lesson is a grammar lesson about how to use ON TIME and IN TIME in English.
On time and In time has similar meaning and can be confused if you do not understand how to use them.
ON TIME means punctual, not late, or happen as plan or schedule. It’s about schedule. It’s opposite is late.
Below are examples to help you understand better:
− I am always on time.
− The bus leaves on time.
− The flight left on time so I missed it.
− My class started on time.
− He is always on time.= He is punctual. = He is never late.
− He is never on time. = He is always late.
IN TIME means it is not too late or before it is too late. It is about deadline.
Below are examples to help you understand better:
I got home in time, it is starting to rain.
I missed the opportunity to study in US because I didn’t submit my application in time.
The accident victim was seriously injured, he was brought to the hospital just in time.
