In this video, I walk you through a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session designed to push heart rate into Zone 4 and Zone 5 for a short, efficient conditioning workout.
The session was structured as a circuit, repeated 10 rounds:
• Medicine ball slams
• Assault bike
• SkiErg
• Explosive ice skater movements
Total workout time: 20–25 minutes
Heart rate: consistently in Zones 4–5
This is how I like to approach “active rest” — keeping intensity high, volume controlled, and time efficient while still improving conditioning, power, and cardiovascular health.
