Trichoderma + Jeevamrutha + Gokrupamrutha: Can They Work Together?
In this video, I address a very interesting viewer’s question:
My detailed reply:
Trichoderma does not kill beneficial microbes. Instead, it competes for space and nutrients (especially iron) and suppresses only harmful pathogens.
In soils rich with Jeevamrutha and Gokrupamrutha microbes, Trichoderma becomes part of the microbial community and coexists with bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes, protozoa, etc.
Research shows Trichoderma improves soil structure, suppresses pathogens, supports local microbes, and enhances nutrient availability.
For best results, apply Trichoderma in the root zone only, with a gap of 7–10 days after Jeevamrutha/Gokrupamrutha application.
Maintain soil moisture and mulch to support microbial balance.
Conclusion: Trichoderma is not a threat to beneficial microbes – instead, it works synergistically with them to protect crops from pathogens and improve soil health.
Another important viewer’s question:
"Sir, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Can we mix Trichoderma and Pseudomonas in neem powder and apply them to arecanut plant?"
My reply:
Good question. You can mix Trichoderma with Neem powder or Neem cake but not Pseudomonas with Neem. Studies have shown that Trichoderma can tolerate Azadiractin in Neem and actually Neem suppresses pathogenic fungi and provides better environment for Trichoderma to colonize well in soil.
So you can mix Trichoderma and Neem in compost and allow it to enrich for 5 to 7 days under shade or covered with gunny bag by maintaining optimum moisture. Once Trichoderma enriched compost is applied give 7 to 10 days gap to apply Pseudomonas.
Also Trichoderma and Pseudomonas should not be mixed or applied together as both being antagonistic microbes (fungus vs bacterium) they can inhibit each other's growth when applied together. So best practice is to apply with a gap of 7 to 10 days between them.
Also Pseudomonas should not be mixed with Neem powder as Azadiractin has antibacterial properties. Neem inhibits the growth of Pseudomonas and other beneficial bacteria. So mixing Neem with Pseudomonas is not advisable.
Also Azadiractin in Neem is biodegradable when adequate moisture is available and its effect gets reduced in 5 to 7 days. Hence applying Pseudomonas with a gap of 7 to 10 days after Trichoderma+Neem does not affect Pseudomonas fluorescence.
