The University of Chicago Department of Music is thrilled to share "Musical Moments," a socially distanced concert series that audiences can enjoy from their own homes. Showcasing students and faculty from the Department's Performance Programs, these virtual concerts feature music from a variety of composers, traditions, and periods.
This week's program begins with a work for solo piano—performed by Piano Program Director Eugenia Jeong—based on George Gershwin's "Embraceable You." Second year College student Aatman Vakil then shares some Shakespeare in a song by British composer Gerald Finzi, and the East View Park Chamber Players, comprised of students and faculty, perform the dramatic finale to Franz Joseph Haydn's "Emperor" Quartet.
