Didcot Railway Centre has been in Railway press a lot of late due to the completion of their first new build engine, that of course is Saint Class 2999 'Lady of Legend'.
Greeted with a heavily attended inaugural event, the Saint proved popular and on the weekend of the 7th - 9th of June she was to star alongside visiting Modified Hall 7903 'Foremark Hall' from the GWSR at the centres 'Hall & Saint' event.
The two were lined up alongside the Great Western Societies resident Halls, Burton Agnes & Hinterton Halls, and showed the evolution of Churchwards original design right through to Hawksworths final development.
The day was certainly intersting, however the weather did not favour the gricer with wind and rain right up until the last hour of the day. But with visiting 14xx 1450 on the Branch Line as well, the day was all in all rather enjoyable! Hope you enjoy.
