Story of my ride / Bike test: Lapierre Xelius + Shimano Ultegra Di2 – 1st ride, initial impressions

This is part of a series about a review bike: the Lapierre Xelius SL frameset built with a new-generation 12-speed Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset and wheels.
If you follow RIDE Media, you'll have seen this bike before and you're going to see a lot more of it yet... as I've got it for the summer.
On my first ride, I took some shots of the bike and then sat down and spoke about whatever came to mind as I considered the bike, front to back...
Here are my impressions after the first 20km.
