Sid Barras is a legend of British professional cycling who competed throughout the 70's and 80's. Having won close to 300 races in his career as a whole, he's inducted into the British Cycling Hall of Fame and has won the British National Road Race Championship, as well as many other iconic races such as London-Holyhead. He also featured in continental races, such as the Tour de Suisse and competed on the world stage as a Vet.
But his results are only part of this story.
In this film Sid explains the difference between racing then and in the modern era and we gain some insight into his childhood and how he developed as a cyclist. But what sets Sid apart, as well as his palmares, is his unwillingness to let go of the sport he loves. His spirited and determined take on life has never left him and enables him to be more active now than most half his age.
