How is geothermal powerplants performance assessed? What is the role of the Exergy, Exergo-Economics and Exergo-Environmental analyses (3-E) in this evaluation process? Is the context of clean geothermal energy production (CCSU) favorable to the efficiency of geothermal powerplants? All these questions and more input is provided in this first Geothermal Emission Control (GECO) webinar.
Amel Barich from Geothermal Research Cluster (GEORG), GECO Communication Officer & member of its coordination and exploitation teams, moderated this webinar which hosted experts from the GECO consortium to tackle these questions and introduce the methodology and applications of the 3-E Analysis.
Speakers of the event:
Bergur Sigfusson, GECO Project Coordinator, CarbFix, Iceland
Giampaolo Manfrida, University of Florence, Italy
Daniele Fiaschi, University of Florence, Italy

GECO is an innovative project aiming at providing clean geothermal energy with a lower cost. It builds upon the success of the recently completed CARBFIX project. The goal is to adopt this approach, together with emission gas reuse schemes, to become a standard to the geothermal power industry worldwide through its application to three new sites across Europe.
