Warangal Fort is located in Warangal, Telangana. The fort is one of the significant and important place in Warangal. The fort is constructed by the Kakatiya Dynasty, was a very important and powerful Dynasty in South Indian Region. Kakatiya Dynasty period is known as the best architecture period in South Indian Region history. Because in the rule of this dynasty they made some iconic and significant structures like Thousand Pillar Temple, Bhadrakali Temple, Warangal Fort, Ramappa Temple and many more...
Warangal Fort was constructed by Kakatiya King Ganapati Deva and later some improvements was made by his Rani Rudrama Devi and his grandson Prataprudra 2. Warangal Fort was attacked by Khiljis and Tughlaqs for several times. But Prataprudra 2 gave a very strong and brave fightback to these invaders. But they destroyed this iconic Warangal Fort. They destroyed water tanks, farms, temples and many more important structures. They also destroyed Chaturmukhalinga Swamy temple (Four face shivaling). When you visit this fort you can see the Ruins of the fort.
