In today's video, we speak to Dr Peter Rimmer, Gastroenterology trainee and registrar in the West Midlands, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Dr Rimmer shares with us his own journey of pursuing medicine after an initial interest in sports physiotherapy, his experiences as a gastroenterology trainee as well as his current route of pursuing an MD. We discuss some of the trials and tribulations of clinical medicine and how taking time out of training to pursue other avenues such as research can be a rewarding way to enhance your skills and avoid burnout.
