Hi friends,
Welcome to my little vlog of me just living my normal life.
Today I'm having a quiet evening at home after work. I’m making traditional Finnish whipped lingonberry porridge (vispipuuro) and drying tomato leaves for my mom to use on Cabbage white larvae that eat her cabbages. I also continue darning my old cardigan, and bake soft rolls for an evening snack. It’s a slow, nourishing evening of homemaking, full of comforting tasks and Nordic inspiration.

recipes:
Finnish whipped lingonberry porridge:
1 l water
4-5 dl lingonberries
1 dl sugar
1.5-2 dl semolina
1. Mash the berries on the bottom of the pot. Add water.
2. Boil the berry puree for 10 – 15 min. Strain the broth if you want a uniform-colored porridge.
3. Add sugar and add the semolina to the boiling juice, stirring constantly.
4. Simmer the porridge for about 15 min., stirring occasionally.
5. Cool the porridge and whisk until fluffy.

Bread rolls:
2½ dl yogurt
½ tsp dry yeast
2 tbsp honey
½ tsp salt
1 dl rolled oats
approx. 5 dl wheat flour (or as needed)
75 g canola oil
1. Heat the yogurt until it is lukewarm, soak the syrup, salt and dry yeast in it, beat in the oatmeal and some of the flour by hand.
2. Add the wheat flour until the dough forms a ball that comes away from the sides of the bowl.
3. Knead in the canola oil.
4. Let it rise until double in size, covered with a baking sheet in a draft-free place, such as in the microwave or in a warm water bath in the sink.
5. Roll the risen dough into rolls using flour and leave to rise on a baking sheet under a kitchen towel for about half an hour.
6. Bake in a 200-degree oven until golden brown.
