I went home to my parents in northern Finland for the week. The air was crisp, the trees were golden, and while I was there, the leaves finally fell and we got the first frost. I made traditional salmon soup for the whole family, spent slow days together, and enjoyed simple fun activities and quiet moments.
It was a cozy, lovely week — just family, nature, and calm.
This is a cinematic silent vlog from my autumn holiday in Finnish Lapland. ❄️🍁
Recipe:
Traditional Salmon Soup:
1 kg potatoes
2 fish stock cubes
2 bay leaf
1 dl leek
500 g rainbow trout fillet
3 dl oat or normal cooking cream
Dill to taste
1. Peel and dice the potatoes. Boil them and the fish stock cubes in water seasoned with bay leaf and leek until tender.
2. Meanwhile, remove the bones and skin from the fish fillet. Cut the fillet into cubes. Add to the pot.
3. Let it boil for 5 minutes.
4. Add cream. Bring to a boil. Add chopped dill. Check the taste.
6. Serve with rye bread.
