Multi-Generation Estate Sale Overflowing with Vintage Treasures!

We do not see sales like this very often. Today we explore a Seattle estate sale in the Magnolia District, where three generations of the same family have filled a home with an endless variety of antiques and vintage collectibles. It is a treasure hunt full of surprises and bargain finds for collectors.

We begin in the garden while waiting our turn, discovering concrete décor both cute and controversial. Then we step inside. In a bedroom, we uncover a five-foot totem pole, local ephemera, antique oak furniture, a bold 1930s advertising placard, and a pagoda-shaped lamp—our bag fills quickly with estate sale finds.

Books appear in abundance. A Playboy Mansion retrospective, collector book sets, and an immaculate Dick Tracy Big Little Book highlight the shelves. Passing through the kitchen to the living room, we find a French jaguar bronze, Victorian cherub compotes, photos, airline ephemera, radios, and Royal Doulton Bunnykins dishware. A wall of miniature license plates, an R.S. Prussia dish, blue seltzer bottles, and an ornate antique page turner reflect the home’s decades of varied interests.

We set down our heavy bag in the hold pile before descending to the basement. One room is devoted entirely to vintage paper ephemera: 1950s fantasy car folios, a 1962 Seattle World’s Fair phone book, Harrah’s Casino handbills, and Boeing airline prints. The discoveries seem endless. We uncover an obscure Lear Motors manual, airline playing card decks, and a Peanuts datebook before exploring the rest of the downstairs.

A mid-century modern coffee table, an antique oak phone, and even a fluorescent skeleton appear—you never know what turns up next at an estate sale like this. Upstairs we take a last look at cut and ruby-stained glass, an Italian leather chair, and a Rinconada raccoon we have not seen before.

Finally, we return home to review the estate treasures. From Antarctic license plates and a Miss Universe program to amusement park guides and a few surprises at the end, this sale delivers an incredible mix of vintage finds. Did we choose well? Only time will tell.
