What is Sydney Marathon ACTUALLY Like?

I honestly can’t believe I’m writing this… but I did it. I ran/walked my way around the Sydney Marathon, and in doing so became a Seven-Star Finisher.

For those who don’t know, the Abbott World Marathon Majors have always been six races: Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York. But this year Sydney officially joined the family as the seventh Major, which means by crossing that finish line in front of the Opera House, I joined the very small group of runners who have completed all seven.

This wasn’t a fast race for me. It wasn’t about times or splits, it was about getting to that finish line, no matter what pace it took BUT I did come away with a time I am really proud of.

From running across the Harbour Bridge to soaking in the amazing Sydney crowds, it was emotional, hard, and unforgettable.
