I want to give My buddy Dave from Calm Wood Creations a special thanks for sending me this Beautiful piece of Spalted Norway Maple, also he told me the story of how he got this wood,
In September of 2017 His backyard neighbors hired a crew to fall the Norway Maple Tree which had grown on the property line between them and their neighbor, As they brought the tree down Dave asked if any of the trunk was available for free and they said yes and hocked the trunk rounds over his fence, and the butt section sat on the ground to spalt The wood sat on the ground for 2 solid years.
In September of 2019 He sliced it into slabs and stored them to season. I received this piece from Dave which was I believe on November 20-2020 all the way From Oregon all the way to Georgia! had it a few days before I got to start turning it.
