It's easy to sync the Tascam Model 12 via the MIDI out to other devices. In this example I recorded the synchronized drum track as a guide track. You don't have to record the tracks, you can instead merge the MIDI device track, which may be originating from several synchronized devices at the same time, during the final mixdown. This would leave all of the audio tracks free to record other things. This is the technique I used to have additional tracks synced to my Tascam 488 tape machine over 20 years ago.
You can also synchronize effects such as a digital delay or sync to sequencers and synths that are in turn connected to other sound modules. Lots of possibilities to expand your recording creativity!
In a future video I plan to demonstrate the Tascam Model 12 synchronized to the Roland Verselab MV-1.
