Inside the Malvern Doll Fair: Vintage Finds, OOAK Dolls & Collector Highlights

Join me for a vibrant day at the Malvern Doll Fair in Malvern Town Hall, where collectors and creators gather to celebrate all things dolls—from rare vintage finds to stunning OOAK (one-of-a-kind) custom pieces. The day begins with a lively setup full of logistical hiccups, including forgotten doll stands, but ends in success as I showcase a variety of dolls ranging from Pullip and Blythe to Tonner and vintage Sindy. The hall buzzes with energy as collectors browse tables brimming with Barbies, Pippa dolls, porcelain pieces, and handcrafted cloth dolls. A special highlight includes Cassie from Bears and Babes and her intricate dragon-themed creations, each one uniquely styled with dramatic flair, handmade wigs, and dazzling accessories.

Throughout the fair, I meet fellow collectors and artisans, like Gail from Willow Ray Designs, who crafts detailed cloth art dolls with hand-painted faces and upcycled fabrics. I also reconnect with TikTok creator Pretty Nostalgic Katie, known for restoring 1980s Barbies and creating miniature doll jewelry using 3D printing. I also get to meet Melissa Turner for the first time, renowned collector of the fabulous Robert Tonner Grace doll. The day ends with fantastic finds added to my personal collection—including a rare Sybarite porcelain doll and vintage Pippa accessories.
