Illustrator Tutorial: App Icon Design Using Gradients

In today's Illustrator CC Tutorial I'll go over the whole process of designing an app icon inside Adobe Illustrator CC using gradients. Using multiple shapes and adjusting one gradient you can come up with some unique looks for an app icon design. This app allows people to share their location with their friends, whether it's at a concert or a date, Meetmee gives the users the ability to connect easier.

The client only need an icon designed, since that’s what they’ll be using throughout the whole app.

After finding the right color scheme for the app icon, I started using the grid inside Illustrator and created the logo of the app.

That led to the idea of combining the letter "M" with a location pin icon.

Creating a flat icon or an illustration can be challenging, that’s why I’ve started putting together a class that will guide you through the whole design process.
