If Ghost had known what we would see in Nipton, she probably never would have sent us. Caesar's Legion had razed the place to the ground, utilizing something called the lottery. The lottery allowed for one "winner" to be set free, one second place person to be allowed to live with a crippling injury, a number of third place people to be taken as slaves, and the remainder to be killed in gruesome ways. We encountered the jubilant winner on the way out, followed almost immediately by members of Caesar's Legion. We spoke with their leader, Vulpes Inculta, who told us that the legion would allow us to live so that we could spread word of the legion's power to the surrounding towns, striking fear into the citizens of California and Nevada. The only other survivor we found was Boxcars, the second place "winner" and member of the Powder Gangers, who was hiding out in the ruined Nipton General Store. The Legion had taken hammers to his legs and crippled him. We now head back to the Mojave Outpost to report back to Ghost.
