Diddy Kong Racing - Pirate Lagoon Cover

Here's a cover of what I consider one of the most infectiously catchy video game songs of all time! David Wise's incredible Diddy Kong Racing OST is full of absolute gems, and this is one of my favourites.

I've had this cover in the works for a while now - I had so many ideas for this one, it was really hard to decide which direction to take it! I incorporated all sorts of tropical vibes, including the music of California, Jamaica, Brazil, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, and Hawaii!

Ultimately a lot of the ideas I had didn't make the cut. It can be difficult to let go of certain musical ideas, but sometimes you have to for the sake of the overall cohesion of the song. Also, I spent WAY too long agonizing over the mixing of this song... I hope the end result turned out okay.
