It is Asia’s oldest electric tram and the second oldest in the world.
Kolkata remains the only city in India where trams still run, offering a calm, eco-friendly, and nostalgic ride through the city’s streets.
Today, routes like Esplanade–Shyambazar and Tollygunge–Ballygunge keep the heritage alive. The trams represent not just transport, but Kolkata’s timeless charm, blending tradition, sustainability, and history in motion. 🚋
